Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA), Underground Storage Tank (UST) Removal

The Challenge:

A Phase I ESA identified the presence of an underground storage tank (UST) on the subject property. Because of the size and location of the tank, it was estimated to have been a former heating oil tank used for facility heating.

Our Solution:

The subsequent removal of the non-permitted UST was conducted within a rapid time window in order to ensure the property transaction achieved closing on time. The tank was removed from the property by following applicable state guidelines for UST removals / closures as well as industry safety procedures.

What's Unique:

The heating oil UST was located in close proximity to the commercial building foundation created logistical challenges for proper and complete removal. The underground tank was removed from the property and the soil condition underlying the tank was determined to not be impacted by petroleum compounds.
